FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1  -  “How much is a tan?”

The best and easiest way to answer that is to come visit us and discuss your tanning needs with a sales associate while we show you our beds, products, specials, and all of the services we have available. We have single session, package, and monthly payment pricing available.

2  -  "Will I get a sunburn?"

Our trained employees are Smart Tan certified and well-educated on all of our tanning beds and their differences. Responsible tanning and sunburn prevention are at the heart of everything we do at Tanner's Paradise. All clients undergo comprehensive evaluations including identifying their sun sensitivity, thus determining their own skin type.

3  -  "Do you have spray tanning?"

The VersaSpa is the spray tan machine we use here at Tanner’s Paradise. The spray contains all-natural ingredients so it will not turn you orange. On average, your spray tan will last 7-10 days. We offer 6 different tanning levels to fit everyone’s darkness desires.

4  -  "Should I use a tanning lotion?"

There are significant benefits to using indoor tanning products. Indoor tanning products contain key ingredients like Aloe Vera, Tyrosine, Vitamins, Natural Oils, Botanical and Herbal Extracts, and Minerals to increase the intensity and effectiveness of your tanning time through magnification, hydration, and skin conditioning.

5  -  "What is a Tingle lotion?"

Tingle is an ingredient added to lotion, usually niacin or Vitamin B, that can help clients achieve quicker and darker results than if they just used a regular lotion. The ingredients in a tingle lotion increase the microcirculation and oxidation of blood in the surface layers of the skin. Blood also carries melanin to the surface of the skin. Since your skin needs oxygen to tan and the activation of melanin is what is needed to maximize that tan, the more melanin at the surface of the skin, the darker you will get.

6  -  "What can I do between tanning sessions to get better results and maintain my tan?"

Since it actually takes 2-5 days for a tan to develop, it is important to continue your tanning program between your tanning sessions with hydrating and tan extending products. These products are specifically designed to provide essential moisture to the skin after tanning and allow you to build a healthy tan.

7  -  "I have reached a point where I can’t get any darker, what can I do?"

You have reached what is called a “tanning plateau”. You must adjust your tanning program within the guidelines of developing a healthy tan. To increase magnification and intensification properties it is suggested to move from a tanning product used to stimulate melanin and build a base tan, to one that penetrates the skin surface with selective oils, nutrients, vitamins, minerals and amino acids for dark tanning. No matter what product you use during your tanning session keep in mind that it is vital during the plateau stages to heavily moisturize and condition the skin.

8 - "My face and legs don’t tan as well as the rest of my body. What should I do?"

Moist skin tans better than dry skin. The face and legs are naturally low in moisture and become dryer with normal activities. It is important to keep these areas constantly hydrated during tanning.

9 - “Why shouldn’t I use lotion in the spray booth?”

We recommend not applying just any lotion before a spray tan because many lotions have high levels of silicone. Silicone is great for making your skin feel soft and smooth, but it can cause your spray tan to melt off! Some lotions, like Prismatica, Triple Threat, and Shore Love, are specifically formulated for use in the spray booth.

10 - "If I buy a monthly special does it end when the month ends?"

No! Most packages you purchase from us are good for one year! The exception to this rule is our One-Month Unlimited packages and Two-Month Unlimited packages. These expire 30-60 days from your first tan. Another exception to the rule is our Four-Month Unlimited, which usually ends January 1st.
